Hi. I’m Russ.

I’ve been playing fantasy football since the 90s, back when you had to phone in your transfers on a premium-rate line or post them by mail.

What started as a teenage obsession became something more by 2010. I started winning prizes in national games - Telegraph, Sky Sports, Daily Mail.

In 2013, I won a European game. The MD reached out, we talked, and he offered me a position at the company. So I went for it. Quit my job, sold my car, rented my house, and moved to Malta.

I spent several years writing about the game, analysing stats, creating content. My work was published across hundreds of websites in 30 countries.

But I’d always had these ideas. Designs that mixed fantasy football with the films and TV shows I loved. I’ve drawn portraits my whole life, and eventually the two things collided.

The store started on Etsy in 2023. And in 2025 it got its own home.

It all began with the Trainspotting “Choose Life” monologue, which naturally became Transferspotting “Choose FPL”. There are a few more now.

One design sits apart from the rest. I lost someone very close to me to mental health, and the Mental Health Matters FPL mug exists because of them.
