My Story

Hey, I’m Russ, creator of FPL Store.

I’ve been playing fantasy football since the 90s, back when you had to phone in your transfers on a premium-rate line or post them in.

What started as a teenage obsession became something more. I started winning national games: Telegraph, Sky Sports, Daily Mail. Football, tennis, even golf.

In 2013, I won a European game called Oulala. The Managing Director reached out, and after we talked, he offered me a position.

So I did something mad. I quit my job, sold my car, rented out my house, packed up my cat, and moved to Malta to work in the industry.

I spent years writing about the game, analysing stats, creating content I believed fans would enjoy. My work was published on more than 500 websites across 30 countries. It was a lot of fun.

But I’d always had these ideas, designs that mixed fantasy football with the films and TV shows I loved. I wanted to see them exist. So I started making them.

It began with the Trainspotting “Choose Life” monologue, which naturally evolved into Transferspotting “Choose FPL”. Now there are more than 30 different designs to choose from.
